Question : Problem: difference between remote desktop and vnc

hi

i wanted to know the difference between remote desktop and vnc.

also i can take a printscreen when i do remote desktop whereas i cannot when i vnc is there any specific reason ?

There are alot of remote access programs.  VNC, and Gotomypc, are all free ones.  there are programs that you have to pay for as well, such as logmeinrescue wich is a good remote access one.  There is also PC anywhere from Symantec.

With that said, those are your main players in remote desktop, and there are many differnt VNC versions that you can choose from.  here is a link that has them all.

Some of them are getting into later verions, and are working pretty good.  But if you have a older machine, it can really slow it down, but then again if you have an older machine your probably not using RDP on it.  

Honestly I prefer to use RDP on our servers.  Everything is alot smoother when working on it than VNC would be, and Vnc is a great backup if you need it.  I prefer VNC for client machines that you just need to be on short term to look at a problem.
