Question : Problem: Connect two UPS devices

Hi people,

I have a user who wants to buy _two_ same ups devices for every computer he owns, so he would connect one UPS to the power outlet, second in the first one and first one to the computer.

He claims that this setup would almost double the running time, and it is not clear to me is this smart thing to do.

Can you please direct me to some documentation that prove either point?

Thanks!

Answer : Problem: Connect two UPS devices

No it doesn't make any sense, you said they are the same size.

Outlet -- UPS 'A' -- UPS 'B' -- PC

UPS 'A' would have to be much higher capacity that UPS 'B' because when UPS 'B' is charging batteries it input is a heck of a lot more than it's output.
If they are the same UPS 'A' will overload and most likely trip off all together leaving 'B' with no AC to it and uncharged batteries.
