Question : Problem: Cannot access files on network shares remotely
I have a Windows 2003 server environment.
All of my users connect via VPN, and then are able to access their file shares.
A certain user with broadband internet has been having trouble accessing files remotely for months. He connects, opens the network file share. After 2 or 3 folders into the share, the explorer seems to freeze, and eventually when he can find the file (usually excel) that he wants to open, he gets the message below:
"(filename) can not be accessed. The file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location, or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding."
The only thing to note is that often times the files and folders he is trying to access are locked down by security group permissions. The weird part is that when directly attached to the network he has no problem accessing the files.
Please let me know what you think.

Answer : Problem: Cannot access files on network shares remotely
There where no ligitimate suggestions to correct this problem. I ended up having the user RDP to the terminal server to bypass this problem.
