Question : Problem: Network Cat 5e cable quality
|
|
Can you give me some link where I can see some comparasions of different manufacturers cables. Like, which one is better: Belden, Teldor, Draka, etc... Are they in a same class, is one much better than the other, etc.
Thanks, Goran

my guess is that if you go to the cable manufacturers website they will advertise the features that justify the price.
any CAT5e or Category 5e rated cable must comply with the following electrical performance specifications, everything else is a feature. http://www.lanshack.com/cat5e-tutorial.aspx scroll down to the chart and you will see the specifications common to all CAT5e cables.
Features can include: jacket color plenum or non-plenum rated jacket, meaning can it legally be installed in a plenum space can withstand more or less pull force zero Halogen super flexible comes in an easy pull box has feet labelled directly on cable
All these features come with an extra price tag.
