Question : Problem: VPN Connection from MAC to a Sonicwall TZ 170
I have a client who decided he wanted to learn a MAC. He has an exchange server with a Sonicwall TZ170 Standard OS running. He wants to use Entorage to connect to his exchange server and get his mail. I tried configuring the built in VPN software on the MAC to connect to the sonicwall (am using a shared key on the sonicwall). It will NOT connect using a shared key. I did some research and what I have been able to gather, the built in VPN on the MAC will NOT connect to the Sonicwall. Sonicwall doesn't have a VPN client for the MAC. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to connect the MAC to my Sonicwall? I downloaded and tried a client VPN Tracker but have found it virtually impossible to correctly configure. I have tried many different ways, however still can't connect. It would be nice if there was something as simple as the Sonicwall client for the PC that I could use on the MAC.

What is the VPN protocol used on sonicwall? You don't even need a VPN connection to access exchange. Yoo can configure entourage to connect through OWA. Add an exchange account, enter the username, domain name and password, In the exchange server field enter the full URL of your OWA server (http://owa.mydoamin.com/exchange), on the advanced tab type the URL for the public folders typically (http://owa.mydomain.com/public) then choose this server requires me to log on option and enter the netbios name of your domain controller and that's it.
