Question : Problem: Replaced Fan and Now i can't disable the alert message!
|
|
I have a dell XPS Gen 3 and in the bios settings there is nowhere that i can see to disable the fan monitoring. I replaced the rear fan and cpu fan and now it pauses to alert me every time i boot the computer. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've scoured the bios and can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be appreciated

Fans with sensors have: +12v, ground, sensor .... [3 wires]
Fans without sensors have: +12v, ground .... [2 wires]
Molex 4-pin has: +12v, ground, ground, +5v .... [4 wires but NO sensor wire]
Either your fan doesn't have a senor or your wiring doesn't connect the sensor to the motherboard.
If there is no sensor connected to the motherboard as far as it's concerned you don't have a working fan. - That's why the warning pops up.
