Question : Problem: Problem after problem with installations.

A while back i bought and assembled myself a new computer part-by-part using the parts i purchased from Tiger Direct and Newegg.

When i initially installed it, it worked perfectly, all except the onboard sound, which i decided to disable and use a creative sound card instead.

Now I recently changed the power supply and find that when i power it up I get a memory crash dump blue screen error message just after the ASUS logo shows on the screen.

I removed the sound card to see if it'd help.  It seems to have solved the problem, however does this necessarily mean that the sound card is defective??

Answer : Problem: Problem after problem with installations.

if you put it back in and it starts blue screening then i would say yes. You may have damaged it whilst swapping out the power supply. Have you tried to simply reseat the card?

The other alternative is that the powersupply does not have enough power to run the whole system but it's more like the sound card.
