Question : Problem: Screen not working

I have an HP Pavilion dv6409wm on the bench on which the screen is blank. When starting, it never gets to post. Lights come on and the hard drive is pegged, but there is no image at all. I hooked up an external monitor but it was blank as well. Is it possible this is an inverter problem? Perhaps a motherboard problem? I'd appreciate any help.

Answer : Problem: Screen not working

take the memory out of the laptop and try to boot it up. If it doesn't do the beeps for the memory being out it is a motherboard problem.
