Please help me my dvd drive failed so I got an identical new one and installed it but when installed the laptop wont boot....but the dvdrw drive wrks in other pc fine....whats wrong....is there something obviuos i am missing out here

I think you may be right, they may be trying to use the same channal or maybe the new drive is set to master rather than slave ?, im not sure how it works with laptop drives since im used to hotswapperble ones.
