Question : Problem: Do clients need a router if they already have a wireless modem?

Hi,

I have clients who have wireless modems, such as 2Wire or Westell,  that came from their DSL companies. Do these modems act as routers too, making their network more secure? Or do I need to install routers as well for more security? Could someone please let me know?

Thanks.

Those modems typically can assign only 32 addresses maximum, unlike most home/SOHO routers which will handle addressing at least 254 devices.
