Question : Problem: Printing issues with Quark 7 to a Xerox Phaser 7750 using a MacPro under 10.4.9

Components of this issue include MacPro, Mac OS X (10.4.9), latest OS updates as of June 26, Quark 7.2 for Macintosh, latest Quark updates, and printing to a Xerox Phaser 7750GX with latest print drivers installed.

Printing Problem
The new version of Quark 7 has trouble printing to the Xerox Phaser 7750GX printer.  When we try to print to 12x18 paper, it prints on 8.5x11 (and obviously cuts off the majority of the image). If we change to the paper feeder or specific tray instead of letting the software/driver choose the paper source automatically, it prints to the correct paper size, but enlarges the image to around 200%, again cutting off the majority of the image. Initially thought it might be a printer driver issue but have installed the latest Xerox drivers with no change in behavior. (Quark 7 seems to print OK to the other printers I use on a regular basis.)  This behavior occurs with all other Quark users in the company.  Additionally, we are able to print from other applications (Acrobat, Word, Stickies, etc) to the Xerox Phaser 7750GX without errors of any kind.

Has anyone seen this type of behavior or has an idea that may lead us in the right direction to resolve this issue, your suggestions would be most welcome.  Thank you.

There are a number of problems with the Phaser 7750 and Quark 7 that are fixed by installing the CUPS upgrade. Download it from Xerox' website at
