Question : Problem: Pentium M - P4 Equivalent??
|
|
Hi, I have got a Sony Vaio VGN-FS315M with the following specification:
Intel Pentium M 740 1.73Ghz CPU 100GB Seagate 7200rpm Hard Drive 128MB Nvidia Geforce Go 6400 Graphics 1.5GB RAM
I wish to play Football Manager 2007 and it is recommended a Dual Core 2GHz CPU.
My question is will my laptop play this game?
Also, is my CPU equivalent to a P4 2.6Ghz as I have read elsewhere or do you have any other thoughts on this?
Thank you for any help. Gareth.

Most games are more demanding on the video than the cpu. Does Football Manager 2007 really recommend a dual core 2GHz cpu? I looked it up, and it says:
Windows 98 SE/2000/XP (Windows XP recommended) Pentium III 800MHz processor (AMD or Intel 2GHz processor recommended) 128MB RAM (1GB RAM recommended) 100% DirectX 8.1 compatible Sound Card 4x speed CD-ROM drive (8x speed CD-ROM drive recommended) 1024x768 32bit colour display 650MB hard drive space
Considering a PIII 800MHz cpu is the minimum, it must be a Pentium 4 2GHz cpu that is recommended (not a dual core). Your laptop is more powerful than this and should work.

It can be, depending on the benchmark you run. http://www.cpuid.com/reviews/PentiumM/index.php
