Question : Problem: Server 2003 Standard unable to load Tape Changer device drivers
Hi Crew,
I have recentlly moved my Backup Exec 12 SP2 from one location to another, but on the same server still. So from my C: to my D:
After doing this none of my backups have run. I kept all of my log and data files to export back in to the reinstall of Backup Exec and have done that.
The problem I am having is now my 1/8 Autoloader is not even showing up under the Device Manager and thusly when I try to run any job in Backup Exec, I get the "Ready; No idle devices are available" status. I have reached a critical level where I NEED to run a backup.
I have rebooted both server and Autoloader to see if they would pick up and that was to no avail. I have right clicked on my server name and ran the "Scan for hardware changes", nothing. I have tried to manually go through the Add Hardware option as well and nothing.
Can some please help me on why my NOS wont load the driver for the device!? Or direct me to where I can find the driver to the Ultrium LTO-3 StorageWorks 1/8 Autoloader. I have tried looking for it and I keep getting these downloads of software and Firmware, and none that direct me to the LTO-3 Ultrium either, they all seem to be LTO-4 or other models?
Answer : Problem: Server 2003 Standard unable to load Tape Changer device drivers
Well, to begin with, unplug the device from the server, do a re-boot and then attach the tape device to the SCSI adapter. Hopefully this should detect the tape device.
Did you check under "Unknown devices" in windows device manager - just to be sure
