Question : Problem: Will 533MHz cpu and memory work in Motherboard w/ 800MHz FSB

Will 533MHz cpu and PC2-4200 memory work on a motherboad w/ 800MHz FSB. I was under the impression that you can combine use slower cpu and memory as long as they match with motherboard that is rated for a higher bus speed. Is this correct?

Answer : Problem: Will 533MHz cpu and memory work in Motherboard w/ 800MHz FSB

The specs call for Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core 2 Quad, Intel Celeron D 4XX, Intel Pentium Dual Core which none have a 533MHZ FSB.
The ram spec for the board is DDR2 667/800 while PC2 4200 is DDR2 533.
Slower components  are not necessarily backward compatible with this board. Best to respect the manufacturers specs and follow their guidelines.
