Question : Problem: motherboard will not recognise harddrive

Approximately one week ago, i booted my pc and heard a intermittant buzz. It also didn't boot correctly but was showing
RPL - ROM ADR:
RPL - ROM - IRQ :5
RPL - ROM - FFC :5
before finally loading windows xp.
I then found that my DVD writer would write.
I then notioced that my slave HDD was not being recognised by the motherboard.
Eventually I disconnected my slave drive (this is a 20gb HDD where I have kept files/programs/photos etc.)
I then found I didn't have the problem booting in anymore.
I tried installing this HDD on another pc as both master and slave but again..no recognition.I had used this HDD as my slave for months
Is there anyway to recovery the files from this HDD.  I know I should have backed them up to a CD.

Answer : Problem: motherboard will not recognise harddrive

It seems like an electronic failure of your HDD electoric board.
to recover the data you will have to find an exact replacement using an identical good HDD,
or use the services of a data recovery shop.

Sorry for you :-(
Zvitam.
