Question : Problem: Intel 915gev -  trying to put in 2 rank memory

why doesn't it work. 1 rank memory worked fine. I sit not compatible or is it a bios setting. It is ddr2 pc2-4200 512 mb

we normally refer to that memory as "double sided"; i never heard anything about 1 or 2 rank.
But, if intel says you have to use single sided memory, then you have your answer; since your stick of single sided works fine !
