Question : Problem: Identifying the type of RAM from the chip ID
|
|
I have purchased a 1GB DDR DIMM which was advertised as "Low Density Chip configuration, Non ECC"
I believe that this is incorrect as the module has a row of 9 chips instead of 8
I think the density is also incorrect as well. I googled the ID of the memory chips used (5UD22 D9DV2) and two entries show them as being used in 124 x 4 or high density configurations.
Is there a way for me to confirm the density of the memory module? Is there a site that lists memory chips and what configurations they are used in?

With 9 chips, it should be ECC RAM (9th chip is parity chip). It also is high density RAM (1GB single sided).
Appears description was wrong on both density and non ECC.
