Question : Problem: Will this graphics card work?

I discovered that my graphics card might be bad. The expert said I need an AGP 2x / 4x card.

I'm in a small town, so it's hard to find parts. I found someone who says she has a GeForce MX4000 PCI Graphics Card 128 MB DDR. Will that work? Thanks!

PCI is a white slot.   Sounds like you have a 2x/4x slot.   8x AGP is different voltage and a slight different slotted "brown slot"     The video card you are referring to will work in a "White slot" ( PCI )   Take your video card out and pitch it - or keep it to test again later.   And throw in the MX4000 card.  You will be happy with it.
