Question : Problem: How do I get my Samsung SyncMaster 920W monitor to stop refreshing when I load a game?

I bought the monitor back in Dec. '07. I also replaced the video card around the same time.  I installed an 8X AGP, 256Mb nVidia geForce card.  I'm not sure if it's the monitor or the video card that's causing the screen refresh.  I never noticed the screen refreshing near as much with my old Viewsonic CRT monitor and 64 Mb nVidia geForce card.  When I load a game like Pocket Tanks, the Samsung monitor goes dark, then it comes back, goes dark again, comes back, etc., etc.  Can someone explain why this is happening?

This usually happens when the resolution you use on your desktop is different from the resolution you use in the full screen game. Try using the same resolution for both your desktop and the game and see if it still happens.
