Question : Problem: S-Video -- connect HP laptop to Panasonic Verio LCD

One of my tasks is connecting an HP laptop to a 30-inch (or thereabouts) Panasonic LCD.

The LCD TV is working very nicely from its satellite box via HDMI.

But when we put the S-Video cable in, I try every mode but 2 different HP laptops report that no external display is connected.  That report is when we use then FN+F4 keys to tell the laptop to display on the external display.

Suggestions?

Tried the 2nd monitor ... computer can't see any device attached.

Called HP.  They tried the same things.

Will recommend they get an HP support guy out there I guess.
