Question : Problem: Dell 1300 Internal NIC card does not work

Dell 1300 Windows XP

Owner says he has never been able to connect a cable and connect to the internet.  On system diagnostics shows card is good.  When cable plugged in it says no network cable installed, have tried several.  Installed new driver and bios.

Reset TCIP stack and winsock.  Wireless works fine.

Any thoughts?

I'd say the problem is with that port.  Luckly, the wireless still works and you can always get a USB or card ethernet adapter if necessary.  You could also get a replacement motherboard.  They aren't too bad to replace.  But, I wouldn't with the computer in it's current state.
