Question : Problem: Array Accelerator problem on compaq proliant
Message:
The compaq Smart Array 4250ES controller in slot 10 has one or more Array Accelerator batteries that have either failed or have insufficient
voltage.
Array Accelerator operations are temporarily suspended until the batteries are charged or in the case of a battery failure, replaced.
Excuse my ignorance, i am working on setting up a compaq proliant server 8000. This message above appeared as well as this message.
Array accelerator status
Temporarily disabled
Less than 75% of batteries at sufficient voltage
Array accelerator battery pack 1 below reference { recharging }
Array accelerator battery pack 2 below reference { recharging }
Array accelerator battery pack 3 below reference { recharging }
Does it mean that i hve to physically replace this battery or will it recharge.
Answer : Problem: Array Accelerator problem on compaq proliant
No, it will recharge.
In about 2 hours (if memory serves me) it will charge enough to eliminate that message from the logs.
I think it takes considerably longer, though I've not timed it, to get a full charge on it.
I usually let a server 'burn-in' for 2-3 days before using it in production, however you can continue building it even with these warnings...
