Question : Problem: SAN Best Practice for SQL2000
|
|
Hi Experts,
We currently have a SAN unit which serves a database store as well as a document store. I was wondering what the best practice would be in terms of SAN disk configuration for housing SQL data and a document store. The document store is accessed via a virtual directory configured on an IIS box. The SQL datastore is accessed via a dedicated SQL box running Windows 2000 Server.
Will getting documents from the IIS box cause any issues for the Data Store (SQL)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

the only thing they share is the SAN unit, so. . . if they are connected separetly and with their own HBA, then I guess there is no problem, Unless, the SQL is heavily used !
Best Regards !
