Question : Problem: Cooling fan problem on Dell XPS M1210
Hi, i have a Dell XPS M1210 but don't have a hard drive for it. I was wondering if anybody knows whether the cooling fan is meant to come on as soon as the laptop gets turned on, or does it only come on when an operating system is installed.
Should the fan come on when i'm only in the Bios? as is doesn't come on at all.
thanks

The fan should come on when you power up system. You can download free tool such as ubcd, knoppix or F12 at start up to run a diagnostic test for your Dell. Without the hard drive is no a problem.
