Question : Problem: OS not seeing all memory
|
|
Experts,
I have a HP DL380 G5 which has 8 gigs of ram installed.
I originally bought the server with 4 gigs, the OS was reading 3.25 gigs of ram in this config. I installed another 4 gigs so we can have a total of 8 gigs. The Bios and system management page see's all 8 gigs.
I installed the /pae switch to the Boot.ini. I am running Windows server 2003 R2 SP2.
The OS is only showing 4gb of ram, before i added the /pae switch it was 3.25gb.
How can i get the server to see the other 4 gigs?
What do you think i should do in order to see the rest?

If you use 32 bits OS, then that is all you can see. If you want use all of them, then install 64 bits.
