Hello there,
Most people have there own opinion when it comes to Intel and AMD. In your case your looking for something that will definitly do the job for you. This computer seems pretty good for what it has and what you will be paying for it.
For your question regarding what would be better, in this case Intel Core 2 Duo is Rated best performance over any other processor. There have been many benchmark tests that have been done and Core 2 Duo comes out on top for most of the tests. So the answer to your question is Yes, Core 2 duo would out performe an AMD Dual Core.
Where you need to make a decision is how much money are you willing to spend. The computer you have listed will work fine for what you want to do with it but a Core 2 Duo might be a little better.
Hope this helps
