Question : Problem: set active partition after ghost re-image
ok we made an image of a dell laptop (vista) and we left it hooked up to our desktop when we rebooted we can see all the files etc, it has 4 partitions, we beleive it didnt set the active partition when we reinstalled it in the laptop it see's the HD but it wont boot up. we where wondering how you would set the active partition if there was a tool or third party app we could install to set it. is there a way to do it while it's hooked into our desktop through disk management or would we need some other software?

Hmm.. It was some time since I used it, but isn't there a "bootable" flag that can be set?
Also, if the boot record is shot, you should be able to repair it from a windows command prompt (boot from CD), something with "fixboot" or similar (like the earlier "fdisk /mbr" command). don't know if the console is available in Vista, though... /RID
