Question : Problem: dell 6450 server scsi compatability

we opperate a Dell 6450 poweredge running SBS 2003. it is a little old, but does eveything we need. we require to upgrade our storage capacity. My question is can anyone tell me if this particular server has size limitations on its scsi drives.

Sorry, not in the UK so I can't offer suggestions on where to buy.

AIC = Adaptec Integrated Controller - the 7899 is a U160 Controller.  Not the FASTEST out there, but only 1 generation removed, so not a bad controller either.

Careful, where in the system are you putting the drives?  The slots in front designed for hard drives or externally?  The slots in front are SCA type drives - make sure you get the right ones or they won't be able to connect.

You might want to look into ebay for a controller capable of 320MB/Sec speeds (this is a 160 as noted above).
