I have a 17" monitor and the screen suddenly went a tint of green like seen in the matrix,
can you explain if there is a way to sort this out and bring back the orginal colour or has the monitor gone to heaven?

Try wiggling/tighening the cable. Better yet, If you have access to another cable you should try it. If that doesn't do it, and adjusting the colors doesn't work, well...... do you still have a warranty?
