Question : Problem: How do I stop a recurring print???

Hi All

Does any body know how to stop pages being printed when you don't know the source? (what caused it to start would also help??)

The problem is we are getting a single page titled "Rowdy's Bootstrap Information" being printer early in the morning on a direct IP printer (lanier LD015). Printer logs don't give us any information (says from User: Root - does not give an IP as to where it comes from - the local subnet is a miture of Windows and Linux machines).

Can't switch the machine off at night (it also our fax machine)

Have search the web for a solution (or any info), but keep hitting deep ends.

Thanks
D

Is Rowdy a workstation name on your network? It sounds as if some administrator on that system is printing some boot info.

Is there anything on the page that can give a clue as to who it is?

You say you don't know, but if you know the IP address of the sender, the printer can block it - unless that user also has other legitimate print jobs...
