Question : Problem: cannot install win2k3 onto SAN.
I am trying to install win2k3 onto a blade BL25p . THe blade currently works fine booting off its own internal HDD. the disks are on an MSA1000 HP SAN and other machines boot ok from it and use its disk without issue. However when i try to install win2k3 sp1 onto the san i get the following message during text mode. " the hard disk containing the partition or free space you chose has a logical unit number (LUN) greater than 0. THerefore, your computer's startup program cannot gain access to the disk . setup cannot install windows on the disk" this will not allow me to install the OS. any tips greatly appreciated. thanks

Boot from SAN LUNs *must* be SCSI ID 0 or the server won't boot. I can tell you how to set the host ID on an EMC system (for a CLARiiON, the host SCSI ID is allocated in the order the LUN was added to the storage group) but I haven't got a clue for the HP box - Andy?
