Question : Problem: Blank screen after using Asus MyLogo
|
|
I'm having a problem that is driving me nuts. I have a brand new build, Asus V2A-VM motherboard, Athlon x2 4800+, Kingston DDR2 667, and a RAID 1 setup. I installed windows no problem, programs installed fine, drivers, windows update, not one problem.
I get to the point where I use the Asus MyLogo to flash the bios with my logo. I've used this process on my last 15 builds with no problems. After flashing the bios with the bios with my logo (its the same bios version, not a new one), after restarting I just get a blank screen. No bios screen, no beeps or anything. I tried booting with no RAM just to see if it would beep, nothing.
I know the hardware itself is fine as the computer was running perfectly fine before I flashed it. The Asus update didn't give me any errors, it went fine.
I've tried clearing the CMOS as well. Nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm stumped and pretty annoyed here.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, it seems your BIOS has died. You may have to have your BIOS reprogrammed by a professional to get your unit back in business again and that may actually cost a few bucks.
Of course you should verify all other possible sources of problems, like removing all removable devices, checking power/battery and perhaps re-resetting CMOS by removing the CMOS battery. In some instances it magically helps to remove both AC and battery power and then press and hold power "On" button for 30 seconds, then try again with power connected.
But, unfortunately, it looks like a bad flash to me. /RID
