I use a HP laptop running Win2k3 Server Enterprise SP1
I bought a hard disk IOMEGA 400 gb NTFS (runs off its own power cord) and used up about 250gb storing critical data and backups (now i wonder why)
There was a power outage and the driev restarted. then I could not access files or folders on it. it gave me an Access Denied error. I decided to restart the OS. It came up with a CHKDSK dialog and did some deletign and fixing of MFT or something (screen scrolled too fast to notice anything) at the end it said Windows has corrected the problem
I was happy to get my hard disk working again, then it hit me.. I had just about 10 % of what was there previously. everything vanished. and it actually shows that i have more space. all my backups and critical files ... GONE..
Please anyone how do i get up from this .
I shall award 850 points for a solution. thanks
