Question : Problem: HP Laserjet 3050: Trouble Sending Faxes
|
|
We have a Laserjet 3050 All-in-one printer. We primarly use it for faxing. We have no trouble recieving faxes but do have trouble sending faxes.
I can successfully send faxes to other fax machines using external numbers at our company. When we send faxes to customers, the faxes usually don't go through. Error: "No fax detected" When I dial the fax number using a phone I do get the other fax to pick up. We do have a pbx and the fax we have problems with goes through it. I have even hooked up a phone to the fax's line and successfully dialed other faxes.
When I called HP they had me turn off "Error Correction" and "V.34". This didn't help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; Thanks.

probably the new fax has a lower gain than the old one. the problem is that the initial signal and handshaking are failing, could be the PBX or (more likley) the local line attenuation. It is usually possible to boost the outgoing signal on the fax, but it is a tech adjustment only. it imay also be possible to boost the gain on the PBX, as it is an analog port, or you may need the gain boosted on your local line by the telecom provider.
