Question : Problem: Can I burn an Acronis hard drive clone made from laptop computer model 'A' to laptop computer model 'B'?

I have a hard drive clone from  my laptop computer that was made using Acronis True Image. What will happen if I try to burn this clone onto the hard drive of a different laptop that is not the same model of laptop?  My guess is that it will work but the related hardware specific drivers will not function and the Windows XP generic drivers for any 'new' hardware will be automatically reverted to?

Any good insight/opinions on this out there?

A simple solution would be to use an Addon to Acronis called Universal Restore.  It will allow you to do exactly what you are trying to do.

As mentioned before, the less desieable way is to just clone it and then do a repair install.
