Question : Problem: How do I install the driver for a REALTEK gigabit NIC on OS X 10.2?

I have a Gigabit NIC installed on a G4 with OS X 10.2 installed. I downloaded the driver for the NIC from realtek, and I can't figure out how to install the driver. I've got the driver file on my MAC, but when I click on the file nothing happens. Here's the filename: mac-8169s(110).tar.gz

I'm not familiar with MAC's, and I've never seen the .gz file extension.

The NIC is a PCI gigabit NIC with a REALTEK RTL8169S chipset.

Please help!

Answer : Problem: How do I install the driver for a REALTEK gigabit NIC on OS X 10.2?

When I download that link, I am given an option to save to disk or open in Stuffit Expander. I chose Open in Stuffit Expander and it created an item in my downloads folder called "rtl8169_macos10.2_release1_1.pkg". Double-clicking on the opened an installer for the driver.
