Question : Problem: Target Mode: any way to find hidden volume?

I'm trying to use Target Mode and Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the contents of a sick harddrive (SMART status verified) from an eMac using Firewire>Powerbook>USB>External harddrive.  The eMac (which has serious boot issues -- Single-user Mode errors-out without any opportunity for inputs) will boot to the yellow Firewire image, but nothing shows up on the Powerbook.   The System Profiler shows Firewire in Target Disk Mode but I can't figure out the path which CCC wants for a Remote Mac Source Disk.  Any suggestions?

That probably means that drive is completely kaput. If there are any files on it you need to recover, try Data Rescue II:  http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue_info.php

There is a free demo download. It will let you scan the drive and will tell you what files are recoverable. It will also let you recover one file for free. If you are satisfied that it works, you can then pay for a licence key to unlock the demo.
