Question : Problem: IBM PC wireless connection to Internet fails with Airport Extreme
Hi
We have a very frustrating problem at home with a new Airport Extreme and Airport Express. Our old netgear router was giving problems and as we have a Mac,we decided to buy the Airport gear. The airport is connected to a Motorola surboard cable modem.
The Mac can connect to the internet ok but our other IBM PC cannot. it can see the Extreme and configure it using the Airport Utility using a direct network cable but cannot connect to the internet with wireless. We have tried everything!
We cannot seem to get the printer connected to the Express going either even though we can see the Express on the network we set up. For some reason the Express has a different IP network address to the Airport Extreme. I am wondering if we have 2 conflicting LAN's set up accidentally.
Extreme IP = 58.172.216.158
Router IP = 58.172.216.1 (shown in MAC network-Airport-TCP/IP)
Express IP = 169.254.25.122
Hope someone can help, reading other questions it seems IBM PC's have trouble connecting to Airports.
