Question : Problem: Windows cannot detect integrated ethernet
I have a computer running a VIA KT600 motherboard. I bought it from a friend with the understanding that there were a few quirks in it. However, I have never seen one like this. I did not get the driver disk with the computer. I have searched the internet and found what I believe to be all the necessary drivers for this motherboard. I have installed them all, and everything seems to work except the ethernet. My device manager simply does not even register that a physical ethernet device exists. Nothing. I have run the automated setup packages from VIA and they worked for the audio and RAID controllers, but not for network. Can someone please help me? Has anyone seen something like this before? Is there a way to make windows scan for integrated hardware and not just plug and play?

Check the BIOS settings. The onboard ethernet may not be enabled.
