Question : Problem: Dell Precision 670 Sata Connections

Sirs:
     I have a Dell Precision 670 workstation which has 2 Sata HDDs installed and I also have a sata DVD recorder drive which I wanted to connect to the system. I now find out that this MB only has 2 sata connections included. Is there some kind of split sata cable I can use for the HDDs such as master and slave, or do I need to buy an IDE DVD recorder?

There are no split connections for SATA cables as Punky stated. SATA is a serial connection which only allows one connection at a time. You have two options. First you can change the drive with a PATA (often called IDE) drive or you can purchase a SATA controller card to add extra ports to your system.
