Question : Problem: Ram problems

I have replaced the 256mb ram on a sony viao notebook (Pcg-K315s) with new 512 ddr266 ram which is compatible with the laptop. However it still only registers as 256mb in bios, I actually replaced both modules and have tried swapping them around to no avail. Unfortunately the bios on this models only selects the ram automatically.

... by the way, I read all questions very thoroughly :-)    Notwithstanding your "advanced" knowledge on this topic ... or your comment that the module was "... compatible with the laptop" ==> it was clear that the module you had was the wrong density.    So that's simply what I told you :-)     ... and my suggstion that you "... Simply exchange the modules for the correct density ..." is exactly what you're now doing :-)
