Question : Problem: Connecting an Iomega 80GB External USB HDD to a laptop
Hi, I recently bought a shiny new USB hard drive for my laptop, which has an SiS 7001 USB Open Host Controller. When I plug in the drive it detects it but it doesn't show up in my hardware profile or explorer as a drive, simply under the USB section, but with a yellow exclamation mark and a Code 10 error under the properties section. I can't get it to work and I've not touched the BIOS as I don't know what I'm doing, but two separate helplines have given me no help at all.
Other info about the laptop is: It's an Advent Intel Celeron 1.1GHz with 320MB RAM and an existing 30GB hard drive.
Bonus points to anyone who can help me to get this drive working via a Belkin USB Hub as I only have the one port and have a USB mouse...
