Question : Problem: How many AMPS do I need?

I'm installing an APC 3000xl rackmount UPS.  I need to have a special outlet installed because the plug is a three pronger like I've never seen.  On the end of the plug it says 125v, 30 Amp.  When I called an electrican they thought I was crazy when I said 30 AMPS.  I see nothing about AMPS in the documentation or anywhere on the APC website.  Is this correct?  Where else might I looK?  I'm 'electricity stupid' and thus why I don't play with it!  Thanks in advance!

i would guess it is a 3000 VA ups- this means it can take at 125 V 3000/125 = 24 A; so a 30 AMP plug is normal (even not sooo big)
