Question : Problem: USB ports will not run as 2.0
I have a motherbboard...ASUS P4S8X-MX. I am running XP Pro. Every time I plug a USB cable in I get a message saying "this is a USB 2.0 device running on a non USB 2.0 port"(or similar). I run a search for USB 2.0 ports on the computer which has 6 USB ports and it comesup as no USB 2.0 ports on this computer. I use the motherboard CD to run the 2.0 driver but it comes up saying if you are running SP1 or higher than the drivers for the USB 2.0 ports are already loaded. I am running SP2 but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Take a lookie down this page, could be a combo of the SiS controller issue and windows issues, but you should find what you need here... http://www.usbman.com/USB%202%20News.htm
I suggest you try the "SiS USB Registry Patch" first, then if that doesn't cure it, check the suggested MS updates and see if you have them installed or not.
