Question : Problem: Samsung 80GB HD - Only 32GB Recognized
|
|
I have a Samsung SV8004H 80GB HD and my BIOS is only recognizing 32MB. Its installed as the primary slave and is using the slave jumper setting. Is this an issue anybody has dealt with or has any ideas on how to resolve? Would a reformat possibly resolve this? What about using the CS jumper setting?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you have a WU series, the slave setting is no jumpers at all.
If you have a WA or VG series, the jumper should go in the second set of vertical pins from the left (labeled slave, obviously ;) )
If this does not work, your mainboard does not support HD > than 32 GB. I had the same problem. Look for a BIOS update. Hopefully there is one out that will allow for drives > 32 GB.
Hope this helps, Dan
