Question : Problem: Is Microtek MRS-1200X6S a SCSI scanner only?

I want to connect an old Microtek MRS-1200X6S scanner to an XP box. I noticed that there are 2 SCSI ports (for SCSI chains) and another female 15-pin port. What is that port used for? Is it parallel, serial? Can I use it with a PC without a SCSI card?

Microtek MRS-1200X6S is the same as the Microtek X6SCSI. I believe the 15pin is for the optional slide scanner. You will need a SCSI card for this scanner.
