Question : Problem: Usb printer reconized as diffrent device

I have a computer running XP that when trying to install an HP 3390 printer it shows up under other devices as a fingerprint scanner in device manager. Due to this it does not reconize it plugged in during setup with HP software, and I even tried to manualy update the driver in device manager, and all I get is the error that the location has no info about the harware. I have fixed something like this before but I forget what I did due to it was about 4 years ago, and it was due to the user not having the driver and just installing it as something totaly diffrent.

try this:
uninstall it completely from add/ remove programs
in device manager>view click "show hidden devices"
delete all devices relating to the AIO
nowdisconnect your AIO
install the software, and only connect it when asked for
