Question : Problem: After upgrade to Backup Exec 10d , now experiencing backup slowness
After recently upgrading to Backup Exec 10d our backups are much slower. Our weekly fulls are being missed because of the amount of time it takes to run some of the jobs. This is running on a Win2K3 server SP2. We are using a ADIC Scalar 100 LTO2 SCSI tape library. All the remote agents have been installed and all servers have been rebooted since the installation. Symantec tends to think network slowness is to blame. Any suggestions. FYI, I have the backups running on its on subnet.

That seems to be a standard Symantec response. Always point the finger or "we know the problem exists, we just don't know how to fix it". I went through about 3 or 4 upgrades rrom 9.1 to 10d. Had the same issues you have and even some addition ones. One all four of those, after spending countless hours on the phone with Symantec, I ended up haveing to do a complete uninstall, registry cleanup and folder removal. Installed 10d from ground zero and everything worked. Since then I have done another five. My procedure changed. Completely uninstall 9.1 and install 10d. Hasn't missed. Don't rule it out as a possible fix.
