Question : Problem: Remote web Workplace connection / set up issues?
Ok, as advised (from another question I asked) I have decided to setup RWW. I am using a SBS server with one nic hooked directly to the DSL Modem, a netopia. I ran the configuration to set up RWW and OWA and everything seemed to go okay. I set it up to go to wingatemitchell.com. I purchased a domain and had it forwarded to my servers IP address. I opened ports on the netopia and forwarded them to the server (192.168.1.2). The ports I forwarded are 80, 4125, 3389, and 1723. Now I was in a rush to test it so I left the office the server is at and ran to my office and tried connecting. No matter how I try
http://ipaddress/remote
or
http://www.wingatemitchell
.com/remot
e
I can not get connected. I can ping both and I get replies. What else could be wrong?
Answer : Problem: Remote web Workplace connection / set up issues?
It must be a forwarding problem. You should check to see if there is newer firmware available for the router you are using and go over the forwarding rules again... if anything try deleting and recreating them.
