Question : Problem: How to enhance laptop's Audio ability?

Hello,

Greetings to all experts! Currently I am using normal ACER TravelMate 4002WLCi laptop with Conexant AC-Link Audio driver. Usually I am using a normal earphone to listen to music with Windows Media Player supported with DFX Audio Enhancement. My questions:

          1. Is there any software/plug-in that can improve sound ability to make it more 'live' and 'surround'?
          2. Is there any drivers that can replace my current drivers to enhance the sound?
          3. Is there any settings theory, either in software or hardware that can be done to improve sound?

well, hope this will be the discussion to all who are crazy with audio enhancement, maximum point that i have will be given to those who are contribute. Many thanks ;-)

I couldnt find audigy 4 or x-fi versions of these but that should give you some idea, also since the above are older versions of what is out now I am sure you would be able to find them cheaper :)
